corner at
By Carter B. Horsley
This
white-brick apartment house at 78th Street was erected in 1964 and
converted to a cooperative
in 1983.
With corner balconies and an angled facade, it offers many spectacular views of Riverside Park and the Hudson River. The top several floors have angled balconies at the building’s southwest corner to further maximize views.
Wechsler & Schimenti was the architect.
The
22-story building has 151 apartments with a total of 539 rooms, a
full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent, a bicycle room, two
passenger
elevators, a garage and a laundry room. It has no health
club and no sundeck.
This is a prime Riverside Drive location that overlooks the 79th Street Boat Basin and is convenient to a local subway station on Broadway and many prime retail institutions like Zabar’s and Barnes & Nobles.
